Mandel Community Leadership Program for School Principals in the North
The program aims to develop and empower school principals to become social leaders for all communities in the region, extending participants' influence beyond their immediate school environments. By fostering regional synergy and collaboration among educational leaders, the program seeks to promote broad social and community leadership to advance the North.
- Program FormatOne day a week
- DurationOne academic year
The program addresses an acute social challenge stemming from the segregation of Israel's public education system, which reinforces divisions between communities with distinct assets and needs. In the diverse landscape of the North, schools serving different populations often operate in the same geographical area – even within the same local authority – yet have little meaningful interaction or shared sense of responsibility for the region.

The program is designed for school principals who live and work in the North. Fellows represent diverse communities and educational streams, have at least three years of experience as principals and demonstrate a commitment and capacity to serve all communities in the region.

Course of Studies
The program’s pedagogical model is built around five core areas: humanities, leadership, diverse society, the study of the North and leadership and impact in the digital age. These subjects are explored through five modules, each offering multiple perspectives and contexts.
A central module focuses on learning about the different communities in the North through field trips and or direct engagement with local people, data and stories. Fellows study the varied program content in four contexts: the personal context, the group context, the professional context of being school principals and the context of society in the North.
